Ningbo Port - Beer Import Quantity in 2017 increased

Why imported beer becomes more and more popular. According to the analysis of CIQ, it is because that import bear has higher alcohol level , richer taste, and more unique package. Plus, when it comes to flavors, imported beer outshines domestic beer with more options. For example, black beer has burnt flavor, coffee flavor and so on.

The main importing countries are Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France and other European countries, and USA, and Korea. Therein,  Germany and Netherlands beer are biggest winners. The import quantity of beer from Germany and Netherlands accounts for 80% of the total beer import quantity at Ningbo port in the first eight months of  2017.

In addition, huge sports event also stimulated the import of beer. According To Statistics, during in World Cup this year, Ningbo imported beer 18460 litres, accouting for 39.4% of the total import quantity in the first eight months.

Lower prices are another reason for the popularity of imported beer in Ningbo market. Previously, imported beer was mainly sold at hotels or bars with high prices at RMB40-50/bottle. Now things are different. You can buy beer at supermarket at RMB7-8/bottle. The prices are quite acceptable, not big differences from domestic beer.
